Passion Chiffonier + POCC night out!

Yay to a Friday morning! Long weekend is hereeeeee! Yeeps Yeeps Yippee.

I have great news. I have a new host, and it is going to be a transition hereonforth. What better way to celebrate my new site with a mega long ass post!

I have no idea what’s in my food these days. I seem to be high on something these evenings. Like, perpetually high. Only in the evenings.

Those at pole prac last night would probably attest to that. And then by the time in the morning, I would back to my listless, meek, subdued, demure old (keyword here is OLD) self.

Don’t judge me, but I am now follow Lady Gaga’s dance steps in Telephone MTV via Youtube and literally bouncing as I am typing this. Sorry for the horrifying mental images I just scorched into your minds, giggles.

This post would have seen daylight waaaaaayyy earlier (fresher!) if not for the hiccup I had earlier with my blog and the trip (still have so much spilling excitement from it.. *swoons*).

I had promised to get this post up last week, and CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW LONG I HAVE DRAGGED? Tsk, so irresponsible right?!

Nonetheless, everything happens for a reason I believe, and since it is gonna be a long weekend ahead, it would mean that this post would be PUUURRRRFEEECCCTT timing for those who had suffered a rough work week to slowly browse and cheer up to!

Cos you guys are gonna be introduced to a brilliant new blogshop, and it would mean plenty of prettys to browse through, and a long weekend to get those fingers clicking for some retail therapy with the comfort at home!

I mean.. imagine getting through the long weekend, with spare time to slow the pace, to pamper yourselves with some retail therapy.

By the time the dreary work week started and you get a bit down with dragging yourself back to work, the purchase would have reached you in the midst of the week to tide the blues over and to have that something to look forward to will certainly suddenly perk the entire week up.

Or at least that works for me!

As I was saying! Pretty dresses and party pictures.. Just the awesome combination to get the party, chillax mood started.

Gee. Honestly speaking, I don’t know where to start.

I have drafted this post like a hundred times in my mind, and started on it a few times, but I kept punching on the backspace key, probably because I am supposed to write an advertorial, but over the course of the past couple of weeks, it actually started to feel like I have a certain expectations out of this post, because instead of the fact that I am being paid to do it, I HOPE dearly that something good will come out of it because it feels like I am helping a couple of incredibly nice friends to promote their startup.

So with the expectations of myself, I actually found myself at a loss for words!

I believe I mentioned in my previous advertorials that I am not one of those typical mainstream bloggers people look for to do advertorials, and sometimes it does puzzle me when people do approach me, like in the case of Jenn and Ling (*evil laughs* Too late for you girls to back out!).

I actually took a long read back all the conversations I have had with the ladies who are behind Passion Chiffonier since contact was first established with all the formalities, before I was wondering if the person writing to me had split personalities (cos they had such obvious distinct characters that even came through their emails), until I realised they took turns to reply to me via the same email.

At first they had offered 3 pieces of items for me to review, and as usual, I stated that I would not normally take all 3 pieces for the sake of taking if the stuff is not to my liking cos it would be unfair that if I essentially promote something I wouldn’t and don’t wear.

They gave some background to the product of their efforts, and very delicately explained the little thoughts that went behind the concept of their blogshops, and what motivated them to start their own blogshops. It wasn’t one of those cut and paste mass-messaged PR statements, but it was just their casual remarks that make you realise how they cared about every details and seemed so happy to do so.

This was what they told me:

“…we thought that just solely selling individual pieces of clothes to customers was not enough. We wanted to present different styles of dressing with the clothes that we are going to sell (i.e. pair them up with different shoes, belts, accessories etc), create wearable looks that we both love.”

In fact, the most amazing part is, besides allowing me to choose what normally appeals to me and is within my comfort zone, they did something that some other blogshop owners seldom do which really impressed me.

They threw up suggestions for me based on their observations of my usual style, and they were spot on with my likes! I think that takes heaps of thoughtfulness and sweetness for people to take note of your likes (remember how we always coo about those guys who are have an attention for details?!).

Not only that, they utilised their sharp senses of style and made recommendations of things I had never tried (cos they are observant enough to know!), and what they thought I could carry off, so I could step out of my comfort zone and at the same time, have a refreshed image!

Then, I took a look at their site with their recommendations, and I took a long while to get back to them… because.. because.. I LIKE SO MANY THING AND I GOT GREEDY la!

Don’t believe? Let’s take a look what they have:

And this was from collection 1 onlyyyyy!

(Sidetrack a bit, the model looks a bit like the Yang Jinhua from Bai Quan Nu Wang right?!)

Thankfully I don’t need work clothes, cos I heart the mock wrap Peplum dress, which I saw Zoe Raymond carry the look off impeccably on her blog.

I struggled badly with whether to get the ziippppbrraaa preens skirt or not cos I think the girls did a fabulous job of keeping true to making their pieces so versatile that I love how the skirt could look so casual (and look youthful!) and sophisticated at the same time.

Nice right?! Alas, it was one piece I didn’t get and am kicking myself for it! And it comes in 2 sizes if you guys are interested in getting.

The green romper is cute cute cute! And the black puffed sleeve tunic was another piece that caught my eyes!

And of course, they were quick to spot the grey floral sweetheart bustier dress is something I would totally dig… and if you haven’t realised, it was the very piece I wore for my memorable time with the elephants in the previous post.

Then they had to make my life more miserable by giving me an exclusive glimpse at their latest launch of Polka Dot Romance:

I ended up liking EVERYTHING from this collection, which is a first cos I normally would only like SOME pieces when I browse blogshops, and it was the first time I actually like EVERYTHING from one collection.

How to choose 3 pieces like that, you tell me??

During one of the conversations, they knew about my upcoming trip and with my indecisiveness, they actually allowed me to choose 4 pieces, and when they knew I have trouble pairing my accessories (yes, I am a fashion handicapped that way!), they put in another item to make my life easier!

I love the black lace dress very much because I actually have something in my wardrobe that resembles it to the core which I paid much more for from overseas some time back:

After I posted the pictures of the night out with my pole-mates on facebook, I actually had a few friends asking me where I got the dress from, and since I could no longer find it online, when I saw a similar one on Passion Chiffonier, I was quick to inform them they could get a similar one at only a fraction of the price!

Since I have something similar, it could ease me from choosing that piece cos I was tempted to get the dress in blue but resisted against it so I can keep my options for others, and try out different things.

Eventually, with the help from the lovely ladies who painstakingly answered my queries to all the dresses (they always replied with such details and passion that it wasn’t those one-size-fits-all replies), the material, my choices were finalised.

As they knew I was heading for POCC event and going overseas, they offered to meet up and pass to me personally in between their busy dayjob schedules.

So sweet!

I was greeted by Ling’s bubbly and sweet smile, coupled by her girly dress sense… and she is one of those who looks gorgeous in white! She looks like she is in her teens and surely doesn’t look her age.

And here is how sweet they are:

And they paid me before I even wrote anything even when I threatened them that I might just leave the country (which I did) and then take their moolah and run away! Then like that HOW?! They didn’t even care :|

It was later when Jenn added me on facebook that I finally got to see how she looks like, and I must say both ladies could very well model their own line!

And it was the constant email exchanges of even the most mundane things (like my whines of my cornea cut, my trip, their work), that gave me more insights to their personalities and after putting faces to their names, I could so totally understand the concept behind their blogshop.

Both of them are vibrant, youthful, fashionable and fun ladies who are in the corporate world, and thus their styles very much spell out who they are, adding a little playfulness and spice to the rigid corporate world, and yet let their characters shine through with the items they chose for Passion Chiffonier.

In my personal opinion, they 2 of them represent different styles and that complement each other well, and give their collection a good range.

At the same time, they understood very well how versatility and creativity could mean the same item would bring a different feel to everyone, and appropriately fits all occasions.

When I brought the pieces to poledance lessons and were having supper with my polemates, I showed them the items and they were all gushing over the pieces and asked me for the site immediately.

So it doesn’t matter if you are 16, or 36, you could wear the same piece and it would look like it fits you to a tee!

So here are what I had chosen and my reviews of the item.. and plenty of camwhore pictures from my outings in the pwwwweeeeetttyy gears!

Polka Dot Stretch Romper

Surprise surprise! Yes, I actually decided to act cute and chose the polka dot romper!

I was actually pretty apprehensive that I might look too act cute, but it was such a comfortable piece and I am very happy with the selection.

The material was thicker and structured, which was fabulous cos it prevented the tube from sliding down, and hold the shorts’ shape prettily in place!

Someone actually said “SO CUTEEEE” when saw me in it, and seriously, who will ever associate me with the word “cute”?

I decided to wear it out on 24th July morning for the vaccination at Tampines!

And it comes with a belt slot which you could go without a belt or in my case, I took a frilly lacey thingy and just tied it around.

After the jab, Siren and I headed to Hougang to pick up some of her stuff, before I decided to lug along to her pole-prac session, where I saw some of the usual suspects doing aerial practice in the background.

I am now advancing to Pole 5, and boy, has it been that long since I started taking up poledancing? And I was so in awe of the aerial’s grace that I decided to pick up Aerial too. YAY!

As I was heading off to my holiday, I missed the first lesson, and Ming very sweetly allowed me to catch up with the lesson BEFORE the course started.

And since I was in the studio, I took the chance to pick up what I would have missed.

That is to do a.. uhm.. BEACH WHALE.

Why poledancing got all the super stylomilo name but when it comes to hoop, so not sexy one? Then they told me it is also called “Front Lay” and I giggled silly.

Mounting onto the hoop in the romper, feel very secure to even do everything (sheesh, now like promoting sanitary pad!).

Celestine been saying how I always look constipated when I pole, so trying to smile as broadly as possible.

And now… *drums roll* The beach whale!

The thing with aerial is it is always quite hard to get a good picture cos I am always swinging.

Me trying to look graceful but ended up looking silly. Was supposed to let go and pose..

Decided to brave the silk (which would be taught in later part of aerial classes), and here’s the amateurish pictures after I first mounted:

And then… the amazon!

All in my romper! I didn’t even need to adjust the romper after I landed back on solid ground cos the material held up very well :)

There was a tiny episode when Celestine said she would be damn upset with me if I manage to do a flip she couldn’t do on the silk, I giggled and asked if she was challenging me. I kept trying and trying and suddenly, I managed to flip and she walked away saying she doesn’t like me that much.

My expression was like I struck the toto, and punched my fist in the air.

But the end result of the move?

Bruises on my arms which are not so evident…

Bloodshot red which became big patches of blueblack! But I laughed how it was all worth it cos I upset Celestine (cos her reaction was damn cute!).

Oh, you can also see quite a close up of the romper here and its material :)

Camwhoring outside the studio!

Camwhoring when I got home before taking a nap for the evening at Zouk to come!

***

Been a long while since I last went to Zouk, and this time is all for a good cause, to support Power Over Cervical Cancer, and also the Acro Polates girls were performing as well!

And for the occasion, I was dressed in another Passion Chiffonier dress, which received compliments from some of the girls who asked me where I got it from!

Fab Dotted Satin Dress

When I first received it, it was the piece which material impressed me the most.

Though they had told me it was made in light weight satin, what I like is that it wasn’t the kind of cheap, thin satin that are too shiny for daily use. It was a bit more matt than the usual satin, and you would definitely not feel overdressed in it even for a casual day out. It also comes with lining underneath.

I actually felt girlier, sweeter, younger (ahem) and sexier in it.

It also is thicker than the normal satin so the shape stays and not look limp. And you know what they say about the ruffles at the bustline.. ILLUSIONS, baybeh!

Besides that, it comes with padding on top so you could cheat a little for that nice little cleavage, heh heh heh.

And now.. pictures in my new dress and the night out in Zouk!

Heading out.

And the best part was that Jenn & Ling decided to throw in a Suede butterfly belt (which they also have on the site in Collection 2) so I could accessorise the dress!

The belt is super easy to match with everything I found in my wardrobe!

The pamphlet at the entrance echoed exactly what I have to say.

Nikki and I arrived early and met at the entrance, getting ready to scream ourselves hoarse!

She did the auntie thing to check out the goodie bag offers so that I didn’t have to!

Jean, the closet kinky maiden with her stripper heels! I thought it is so adorable to have a cash slot at the transport heel… like so innocently kinky!

Bumped into Nadnut who was at the event too, and you can see the patches of bruise on my arm!

With Celestine and Jean, who were waiting to perform.

Nikki, Miss Mango Trina, me and Jean. They put up such a fabulous show that night, and made us wonder when we would one day reach that level. *dreams*

SO HOT RIGHT!

Group picture of the girls from poledancing studio (and the pole wipers, hahaha)! Most of us were there to lend our support and voices and they were amazing!

Back to her old self… she had inspired us to pick up the “reach out and pluck the rambutan gracefully” move.

They requested it.

Nikki and I with sexy Eunice, our instructor and motivator.

I said must take full body view so can see my dress. Hahaha. Nikki looks damn chio here.

The night ended with us heading for supper at River Valley Road before we gave Eunice a lift back and conveniently headed for another supper location.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Stagmont Ring, is this amazing dog-friendly place where we have been chilling quite often at.

It has seating area for dog owners to have a beer or two, and their food is pretty decent and economically priced!

An area for the dogs to run about, and the black fenced up area is actually a pool for the pups to have a dip! Absolutely sweet, sweet place.

This is me and Tyson, a Bull Mastiff puppy. I wasn’t strangling him! Please don’t report me to SPCA!

It was then I saw this lovely pup strolling around with staccato steps, revealing the leg problems it has.

Fell in love with it and it was just so calm, and quiet, except when Tyson tried to kiss him.

It was then the owner of the cafe told me how the boarding house has been a popular place for irresponsible owners to abandon their dogs.

This pup (which I have since nicknamed him “my dog”) is old and has legs problem, and it was abandoned at the gate of the boarding house one day. He is just one of the many, including 3 labs which were sent over by the same owner, and he never came back for them.

I got all teary just listening to the stories, and it perhaps explained why he always looked so… detached and morose. He looked on to the world with jaded eyes and he doesn’t get overly affectionate with anyone.

It is because of him I keep returning.

He is the only dog allowed to roam freely around the premises, and I always tell him he is very loved.. somehow that sounded silly.. but oh well.

We left around 3am that night, and usually the cafe opens till 1ish am on weekdays.

The address is No. 5 Stagmont Ring, further down the road from ten mile junction if anyone is interested in checking the place out!

It was a beautiful Saturday, it indeed was :)

***

The third piece I chose was obviously the grey floral bustier dress from the debut collection!

It was made of light cotton and that was why I brought it with me for a hot day out during my trip!

The material is very cooling and came with an inner lining too!

And it also comes with the “secret” of padded bustier, that you can see lotsa.. uhm, illusions!

Here’s some of the snippets of the trip (which I will do up a post soon!).. and everyone been asking me what’s that beautiful place, and the answer is..

It is Sri Lanka.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yah, I know, forsaking Sydney for Sri Lanka, many didn’t understand the logic behind my choice either, but I really liked what I saw, and decided to see them for myself.

Again, you can see that I have paired it up with the butterfly belt that Jenn and Ling chose for me.

I could even cross the river in it, heh.

The dress comes in 3 colours and they have even shown different ways to wear it. I wore it to a nice dinner with a cropped jacket and it looks formal and presentable immediately.

This was also the dress that when my pole mates saw, and unanimously liked :)

***

Last but not least!

casual embossed rose tank top

I opted for this for its apparent simplicity but upon close up, you can see the nice gold trimming of the rose that gave it an unique texture.

When I showed the pieces, many touched the material and complimented on its material.

I would say it is damn sexy to wear without tights, but please only keep it in the bedrooms.

With flash you can see the embossed rose more clearly. The material has a nice touch to it, and is really comfortable to wear.

I wore it on the last day of the trip, and was looking forward to run about the trip and doing jumps in it, unfortunately we didn’t have the time to go down to the Colombo beach, and I only had time for a picture in the airport.

Here, I coupled it with a pair of shorts, and it was the perfect thing to wear cos everyone had to be body searched at the airport, and I pretty much cleared without being touched much hahaha.

Foggiare’s first

I remember it was not too long ago when I first knew Jo, and was struck about how this young lass has such sheer passion for what she believes, and has her heart in what she does.

It was just a quiet start-up, and slowly, before we realise it, Foggiare has gained quite a major foothold in local blogshop scene.

Foggiare is also now in the running for Best E-Commerce blog for S’pore Blog Awards (Jo didn’t tell me that and I happen to chance upon it and thought it is great news to share!), and you can vote for Foggiare HERE.

And I must say this girl totally deserves the success :)

Now, a new milestone awaits with *drums roll*….

…. FOGGIARE’S FIRST MANUFACTURED COLLECTION!

So exciting! To be able to put her sense of style and creativity to physical form! And with her collections thus far, the pieces she had chosen make me feel that her taste can be absolutely trusted.

Of course, style is subjective, but to me, I definitely see plenty of things I like in her collections which are just oh-so perfect for casual days out, chasing after Minibean in or for the simple, presentable work gear for formal wear.

So when she shared excitedly about her new collection, I was keen to see what she would put to form, and I can say I am not disappointed!

And what is in for the fashionistas out there will be plenty of gorgeousness in store, very very soon.

Meanwhile, here’s a sneak preview of what’s coming our way with Foggiare‘s very first full manufactured collection, while we wait with bated breath for its launch.

(Here’s when you mark the date on your calendar, put it down on a post it note or something if you are old-schooled like me, or there’s always the appointment setter on your mobiles!)

Foggiare’s manufactured collection will be coming your way on 16 June, Wednesday 9PM.

Told ya they look yummylicious! And here’s what I truly adore in the collection:

Satin Pleated Front Bustier Top in the style of BCBG in cupcake blue is so feminine!

Eyelet Cotton Skirt which comes in 5 colours!

Sweetheart Bustier Heart Button Top in gunmetal.

White boyfriend jacket and the scallop hem dress look awesome for work days!

3 more days to go before the collection will be out on Foggiare, and take time to make the difficult decision of which colours to choose. Grab them before stocks run out :)

Time to unleash the shopaholic in you and may you all look pretty in your new frocks (which I believe you guys will!).

A fab start to the decade

The start of this new decade kicked off with plenty of awesomeness.

I felt no pressure to have any kind of celebration to lead the new year in, and was pretty much contended staying home on a lazy Thursday afternoon when the world out there was buzzing with activities.

Nonetheless, the spontaneity juiced everything up, and I did head out, and had quite an interesting evening, away from the sea of people.

So all’s good.

And the best prize to usher the new year in? I got my taste bud back! I could taste the egg, cheese and sausage in my Sausage egg McMuffin this morning, and it was plenty of goodness.

You have no idea how the past week was a torture when my appetite remained huge, but I could taste nothing to satisfy those cravings.

:D :D :D All the reasons to smile.

And woke up only at 5pm this evening, to a dreary, cosy weather, and felt good to be enveloped at home, in a hue of grey.

Did absolutely nothing but to catch up with people, and catching up with news. Good to know it was peaceful with no major attacks anywhere in the world.

BUT THE POINT OF THIS POST IS TO WAX LYRICAL ABOUT VICTORIA’S SECRET!

I was bored, thinking what to have for dinner, and decided to track my newest parcel, which I just blogged about few days ago.

So this time round, as I said, I had made massive use of the free international shopping code and VS is sending the parcel to me via UPS.

They had indicated that the parcel would reach me, estimated-ly, by 27th January.

The parcel was sent on the 30th Dec, when my credit card payment all went through smoothly.

So I went into UPS, I got slightly surprised when it says it would reach me by 1st February.

Then, I thought.

EH! THIS IS AMERICAN DATE FORMAT, IT MEANS, OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!

It is reaching me on 2nd January, which is, GASP GASP(!!), tomorrow! And it has already reached Hong Kong, transiting to Singapore.

I TELL YOU! HAPPY UNTIL CAN CRY LOR!

I mean, got more orgasmic than this or not?

What an euphorgasmic surprise on the first day of 2010! I had thought I would want to wait for my jacket for plans, and then now I could bring it forward!

Best part is that I had ordered another piece of bikini which means it would be just in time for the cruise!

I am lovin’ it already :) :)

Compare to Vpost, which took, like, pfft, what? One month to reach me?

Suck it up! F.O.U.R. days, baybeh!

Vpost had lost Jing & Jo’s parcel too and it still hadn’t reached them. And it was supposed to be Jing’s present and they gave the same crap excuses as they gave me! Frustrating or not?

And it is over new year holidays, how could that be possible? VS, you must be fuckin’ kiddin’ me!

The thought of it just gives me leg-buckling quivers.

FREE SHIPPING ONE SOMEMORE, YOU KNOW?

Did I even mention my parcel is a hefty F.O.U.R. kilograms?

You got an impressed, loyal fan in me now, VS. -thumps chest-

Plenty of hearts-ness.

VS and the weekend of random strangers

Have I been away for this long already?

I think I am getting too comfortable in my comfort zone, and despite not doing that much since a week ago, it feels like I have done pretty much.

And however meaningless, everything seems pretty meaningful! -beams-

Blogging the past week was always at the back of my mind, just that I didn’t really get down to doing it, and by the time I am chewing on the bits and pieces of it, I don’t remember what to do with the memories anymore.

So I thought I shall start with the exciting weekend I have had.

Of my little adventure, of strangers and sweaty armpits and all!

Friday 18th December

It could have been the coolest Friday in a long, long while, and the best part of it, nothing of it was planned.

My resolution for Friday, was to wake up for the delivery of the long-awaited package from Victoria’s Secret, using the ever unreliable service of Vpost.

Speaking of which, as much as a nagging voice is egging me on to get a refund, cos I just can’t take this injustice lying down, but I am just tired of draining confrontations and am thinking of letting it slide so I just don’t have to sit through the whole saga. It was almost like an emotional roller coaster.

On Thursday, they had told me my parcel was confirmed lost. Yes, after they had told me they had found my parcel. I swear I was on the verge of tears because of this emotional roller coaster, like, who do I freaking trust?

Towards the end of the day, someone called to tell me that my parcel had been found and arrived in Singapore, and they would deliver to me the next day, between 9am to 1pm. I had my whole heart and trust into this and I was feeling kinda positive already, though I was somewhat pissed that they made me go through that extreme low of believing my parcel was lost.

Maybe it is like making me deprived, will somehow make the orgasm all the more stronger.

True to Vpost/Singpost fashion, the parcel arrived at almost 2pm.

But I was just too thrilled to be complaining, and Vpost never did hear from me again.

The parcel they had somewhat misplaced:

Yes, it is NOT small to begin with.

I ripped open the box and Christmas did come early, though I must say that it should have came much, freaking earlier! Grrr!

And for those who wonder why I got all anxious and excited about the parcel (before I got frustrated and devastated by Vpost/Singpost), I tweeted the picture of my loots, and I am not sure how many of you will truly feel the pain of losing all of these:

Such a yummy burst of colours right? And it is enough to cheer up anyone’s day just with the delicious blend of goodness :D

Definitely give me plenty of smile about, and plenty of awesomeness. Legendary! No repetition either!

And come 1st quarter of 2010, no more waiting, no more Vpost, cos Victoria’s Secret gonna have its first Asia boutique in Singapore! Though I am not sure if there is gonna be delay or what, but heck, it sure beats depending on Vpost, though of course if the sale and the cost gonna be cheaper with weakened US dollars, I will still think about getting them from the online sites, since I am pretty much allergic to crowds.

STILL! Victoria’s Secret in Singapore, exhilarating! Can try on the sizes before I make my orders, laughs, and word has it that Orlando Bloom (hubbba hubba!) gonna be present at the opening.

I can only dream about being invited for it, isn’t it? Or that if Ashvin Valiram will somehow take pity on me and invite me along. -dreams- I will serve canapes for you for FREE! In VS lingerie! I will be your slave (not in that sense!)!

Cough. I really wouldn’t want to scare your guests that way, laughs.

Though I must say the feeling of having a package delivered to the doorstep is just a one of its kind of feeeeeeling.. I used to miss waiting for parcels during my stay overseas. It is the anticipation and surprise element.

Hey, I think it is the blogging withdrawal symptoms, I am getting overly offtopic with this and longwinded!

In my groggy state, I remember greedily tearing them out of their plastic, and trying on each and single piece, only to be sighing with absolute delight and relief that EVERYTHING FITS PERFECTLY. Though some of them I should have succumbed to a size XXS, but nothing a little bit of nip-tuck by the tailor can’t fix.

Threw almost everything into the wash, but the temptation of wearing something new and chirpy out was too great.

Had lunch at home, before I knew it, I was wearing a casual dress out for a casual day in town!

Chose the yellow piece since it was of a more casual cut and it would go well with flip-flops for a day of no-fuss.

Love the X-back, and I was wondering if I should get it altered for a tighter cut. I am lazy. So maybe I should just put on more weight to fit into it, but then I know I will cry bloody murder for it.

Headed for a medical test for my blood and hormones which is one of the things I want to sort out for year 2010 – for better health.

I didn’t manage to meet Joyce to disappoint her with the no-show of  “Mr Chong”.

After whiling almost 2 hours at the clinic, I ended up at China Square Central to collect my poor, poor baby.

The one which had been abused by Minibean – my Pourpre Balenciaga First.

Finally collected it from the cleaners, before I sat down to have some rojak and a quick drink with Siren, before she headed off to have dinner with James.

We were supposed to meet for a 11.20pm movie, and with an ample amount of time to spare from then till 11.20pm, almost 4 hours to be exact, I did the thing that makes the most sense to me – utilise my data plan and surf lah!

Of course, to feel less lonely, I got on Twitter.

And then suddenly, my almost boring Friday evening became a little adventure of my own as I jostled the traffic to get into town!

Was thinking of doing some Christmas shopping, but then I saw the crowd and I got intimidated and put off.

SERIOUSLY! You would think you are caught in a war between the humans and the Na’vi!

Someone was also in town, and bored, with an hour to spare.

And what followed was a crazy idea… to meet up with strangers.

Somemore oily face and casually dressed, got more shy and kanchiong or not?!

  1. left @cruzteng already hor. If he later go missin i never kidnap him har!
  2. got pom pom tiao feelin leh but cos shy la cos i nervous meetin strangers whattttt
  3. why i so kan chionnnnnnnnngggggggggg

  4. @cruzteng i am lateee but here behind taka. I am wieldin a knife

  8. @cruzteng u got kaki liao or nt?

  10. @scarletscandals wru? I at taka. Till 815~

But good huh, he says XX% of young people.

WE ARE YOUNG PEOPLE! WOOHOO!!!!

I know alignment a bit off, but don’t know how to adjust.

So it was almost like reality tweeting show, and the first thing we met, he said, “Give me a while, I need to tweet,” so in between my initial jittery giggles, I also ended up tweeting about it with other followers also getting a little adventure out of this.

Really ah!

And the sexiest thing I have said?

I very nervous howwww?! My armpits wouldn’t stop sweating! HOWWWW?!

Very classy.

He is taller than I expected him to be, and his head/face is smaller in real life. Younger also. But I ended up just covering my head with my paperbag and giggling non-stop. SO NERVOUS CAN?!

And yes, I was late. Cos I bloody smart, for the short distance, refused to take train, die die wanna brave the jam by cab. Got more lazy or not?! Ended up really like mad woman, had to RUN lor.

Then I learnt my lesson after I parted with him (I swear I didn’t do anything to him! He left me safely, so hopefully this will make you guys believe that I don’t bite!) to avoid all malls in Orchard, and all public transport too!

Didn’t even feel like Christmas shopping already :(

So from Orchard, I decided to go to my next destination – Suntec City, by foot.

So I walked in the breezy evening, taking in the beautiful lights (not that the decorations are pretty, but just because you know, many colours, like very dazzling), and I mentioned to the-stranger-I-met about the funny looking reindeer wearing a dress with a skin-colour phallical thingy sticking out underneath its skirt.

I remember my hair was teased, and there was something upbeat in the air, or maybe it was the adrenalin high that was still giving me sweaty armpits.

I remember thinking how great the moment of solitary was.

I remember not wanting to stop to take pictures because it was so surreal and I was just enjoying being part of it, though on hindsight, I really should have.

I remember walking from Orchard and after Plaza Singapura (I stayed at the opposite side of the road to give myself more space), my bladder was starting to fill up with the Ice Lemon Tea(which I didn’t KO from, so I can attest it wasn’t spiked), and I decided to take my chance for the 2nd time in that evening.

I called Clarclar.

I asked if she was still working. She was.

And for so many years, we had only met once. When she had walked past me at one of those trade shows some years back.

I asked her if she wanna meet me for a while, after I had my toilet break, and we wondered if we would end up being too shy to talk.

Quite okay leh, but my armpits sweated more and I got more tongue-tied and more kanchiong than I had when I met Cruz.

You will not believe how big a step it was for me to finally meet Claris. And it went pretty alright in my opinion lah, though I am not as tall as she thought I am, and she was shorter than I thought she is. As pretty, but maybe I am bias.

And she reminded me of someone :X

I was almost out of breath and I had to ask her to turn away from me, and when she couldn’t hear me I stood behind her to speak into her ears. Got more hilarious or not.

But I finally did manage to look at her in the eyes.

I didn’t realise I stopped for more than half an hour. I continued on my walk from there, mesmerized by the town area which was as if wrapped in plenty of happiness.

When I finally reached Suntec City, a timely message from Siren came in.

It was 10.15pm.

They were done with dinner and were on their ways down to meet us!

We headed to Hong Kong cafe for dinner (more for me, obviously!), and the chaps went to get the tickets.

And then, I bumped into Jamie, who had seen my tweets and wanted to tweet me that she was at Suntec before her phone got cut off or something.

But still, we were fated and ended up bumping into each other at Hong Kong cafe.

Then bumped into Cordelia.

What a strange, strange day!

***

Watched Avatar, and honestly I certainly wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely was blown away when it turned out to be nothing short of amazing.

Plenty of brilliance can!

It is not something that could be explained, but has to be sat through by everyone to understand the awesomeness of it all.

It is about art, technology, and hell, even politics. But mostly, it is about breaking barriers, and it surreality definitely make you feel out of this world.

I am not a person who is a fan of fantasy, or things that seem too unreal to be existing in this world, but this show has shown how believeable everything is.

I am just a little bummed we didn’t forsee the epicness of it to go for 3D, but it wowed everyone.

I was thinking at the end of it, I wanna be there, but only to be pulled back into reality to remember it doesn’t exist to begin with.

The last time a movie made me feel like this, was Lord of the Rings, when I know I want to be in Elf-land to bonk all the elves.

Nonetheless, Avatar is a movie about believing, and pushing the boundaries of your belief systems. Simply fascinating.

I don’t know what it was, but the trailer certainly didn’t do it justice, I thought it would be another CGI movie that said all it was, but wouldn’t be able to deliver, but damn, it did and went way beyond that.

Wow. Just wow.

***

The night was concluded with more food at Hong Kong cafe, while we watched the night shrouded by the thin drizzle. It was absolutely cosy.

I was tired, but just trudged on the night with plenty of good company.

***

Slept in on a rainy Saturday, and woke up to realise we were ass late for a salsa session at Vandalin‘s office, where he was all alone for a good half of the afternoon, waiting for a bunch of lazyheads who couldn’t get up for the 1.30pm session.

Eventually, we got there at 4pm, simply because I had a mini guest-of-honour with me, and getting her fed, changed and poo-pooed wasn’t that easy a task.

And once again, I was in my VS gear. Hohoho.

It was a blue top I totally adore, and would look great with tights (what’s the difference between yoga tights and daily tights?), and I totally love the cut!

Looking really chui but love the blue!

Minibean with her Santa Claus, and the jacket I lost. The jacket she has worn since she was mere months old :(

Lunch at Amoy Street with her being totally cheeky as usual.

Lunch menu: Beef hor fun, Wanton Mee, and Mutton Soup.

She was being a total handful, and refused to let me speak to the others in peace. Could be a little cranky due to lack of nap.

Finally met KM and RN in real life, and it was…. nice. Cos I do remember most of RN’s comments and they were always the ones that made me laugh, as well as feeling warm and fuzzy. So I was actually a little embarrassed to meet them in person.

We then left Vandalin’s office without even doing any Salsa, and headed to have snacks at Lau Pa Sat!

Puckering up for the camera!

This was perhaps the last moment before I lost her jacket for good :( After she wrapped Santa with the jacket, I saw the jacket being a little soiled and decided to put it into my bag, but I never saw the jacket in my bag anymore.

That was her favourite jacket from Kenzo, and I bought it for her :(

Example of a bad influence:

And she picked it up:

Not me! I not the bad influence! Hohoho.

Wanted to take a picture with Siren in our new VS stuff, and someone decided to crash the party at the back. But she is just being so adorable lah! :)

Food on the list for our overseas guest:

Sambal stingray and Gonggong.

I am ashamed to say that was my virgin experience with the gong gong.

And we want to bring him for more local delight, like black pepper crabs, and of course, durian!

Finally, a new favourite picture of Minibean, credits to the great lighting:

She just looks so angelic here, and her double eyelid is showing in one eye (thus her eyes look one big one small).

We headed to see Siren at her Bachata class, and snuck off when our ride was here to pick us up.

I remember dozing off together with Minibean throughout, and got home to have Double Cheeseburger meal, upsized to go with the food I already had in the day.

The most fulfilling thing was to feed her an entire bowl of porridge, gave her some treats in the form of fries, packed my room, showered together, washed the bathroom floor, washed her bottles and all, the dishes, did the laundry, hung the clothes to dry (and praying that it wouldn’t rain)…. the best part? Mum wasn’t home. Wooohoooo!

For a good part of the past year, she had indulged in the bad habit of shoving her finger up her nose to get the attention of adults cos she kinda enjoy when all of us get riled up when she does that.

The other day, I decided to show her this picture of gorilla to deter her from doing so any further.

I am proud to say it had worked wonders.

When she had wanted to do it again, I asked, “You remember gorilla? You want to look like that?!

She quickly put her finger down and said, “NOT PREEEEETTTYYY!” with Mummy looking darn smug with her ploy that works.

Spent some time with her in her vet play tent though I must say it is very crammed.

But it was a nice Saturday. Very nice.

I ended up having a bowl of white rice with home cooked goodness, and was still craving for Kambing soup AFTER I finished my supper.

***

Didn’t go anywhere on Sunday, just stayed in with the fabulous weather, and sat through almost an entire season of How I Met Your Mother, and 2 episodes of CSIs.

I succumbed to guilty pleasure again with homecooked food, AND another upsized double cheeseburger meal. :|

There is something in the simplicity of it all, that made me just wanna laze… and rolling Minibean around in my bed before she scooted off to sleep.

***

I bet it isn’t a surprise that I only woke up in the afternoon on such a dreary Monday.

It was great.

After my mum and Minibean headed out to visit my aunt, I ended up going back to bed till it was 5pm for such pure, unadulterated rest.

Utter, utter bliss.

Woke up to head to Kovan area to help Andy and Evelyn with their new ride, and before Christmas, they will be new owners of a car!

And it was just typical of me to pull the Victoria’s Secret top fresh from the wash:

We ended up waiting till almost 10pm before we finally settled down for dinner at Ang Mo Kio, and it was black pepper crabs, salted egg crabs, cereal prawns, sambal kangkong and hot plate tofu, all are my favourite dishes.

It then started pouring and I actually panicked cos my fishes in fishville needed to be fed.

Apple was just too happy to see my fishes die, I tell you. Tsk, evil.

Headed for home when the rain subsided, and it was a picture with plenty of niceness out there, with the scent of rain in the air.

I was just too hooked to establishing a career on the iphone with Guitar Hero.

Finished with How I Met Your Mother, and ventured on to Season 2.

I think Neil Patrick Harris is just so hot.

I need a Marshall in my life, but I am just into season 1, so whatever follows doesn’t count.

I have a Project Lingerie on hands with my partner in crime, and like she said, dreams are the seeds to reality. Woohoooooo!

Before I knew it, as I started with this post, I was just so positive that I wasn’t gonna succumb to McDee’s, and I ended up heading out for Big Breakfast. And since I couldn’t decide between Big Breakkie and Hotcakes, is anyone surprised with my recent appetite that both were ordered?

It is such a dreamy start to a Tuesday, with a dreamy week to boot.

I am quite sure it isn’t going to be a fruitful Christmas shopping day, but I am just contended. :)

And blessed. Especially with the people I have met in the past week, I am glad to have done so.

Yes yes, I know some of you asked me to post pictures of my VS loots, but so far, these are the ones I have worn, so stay tuned for the others! :)

Vpost

Where service is concerned, Vpost is an epic fail.

It all started when VS promptly processed my order, and delivered quick enough for me to feel excited about it all reaching me faster than expected.

When I tracked my parcel via VS’s courier, everything was rosy until…….. it reached Vpost.

I sent in my invoice at the first instance to match my parcel, but I kept getting emails from them to send in the invoice.

Okay. I sent again.

The parcel status went mysteriously missing in my system, so I thought they matched it. I know they had put a disclaimer to say there might be a delay in the process, so it would take a couple of days.

I sent in an email to check if they had matched the parcel to the invoice because I could no longer see the parcel status in my system.

Still, the email came in to request for my invoice.

Nevermind.

It took a few days later than promised and with my parcel mysteriously disappeared into twilight zone before they matched it, and the parcel status appeared in my system again.

They then sent me an email to quote the postage rates base on the weight of my parcel, and advised me to pay at the Vpost site, via the system.

I went in and there it wrote my invoice amount to be USD$1, and there is no indication of the amount I should pay, and basically I couldn’t lah!

The emails from Vpost came in again to invoice me for the postage but seriously! If your system sucks, how can I pay?

So I thought nevermind, I shall wait for it to be in the system.

After 3 days of no sound no picture, I emailed the customer service to reflect that the postage amount is not reflected and I would like to pay for it.

Couple of days later, I received a reply that it was sorted out and I could finally pay it on the 26th November.

So, it was the beginning of a long countdown.

They then indicated that the parcel was released for delivery with a tracking number given.

But unfortunately whenever I tried to track it, upon entering the tracking number given gave me the response of “status unknown” or “status unavailable at the moment”.

ROOOOOOOOOOOAAAARR.

So last week, I called up to see if I could have more visibility on that, cos by right, I thought it should reach me by late last week already.

They assured me it was on its way, probably on transit or at the customs, and I should be able to receive it by Monday, when asked if the tracking number not providing any status is okay.

Came this week, and when I didn’t receive it on Tuesday, I gave a call to Vpost again, and the customer service officer was puzzled too when she couldn’t track my package.

She told me she has to escalate the matters because by right it should reach me but they couldn’t track the parcel at all, not even the route of how it should came by.

Booohooooohooooo. She was then pretty clueless, and didn’t indicate anything and hung up.

I had to call up again and this time, another officer stated her name and said I could get back to her, and would try to track the parcel and get by to me by today, or latest by Friday. This time, she got my contact details and all, and was equally puzzled how there wasn’t any status updates to my parcel package throughout this.

I shall wait till Friday then before I know the fate of my parcel, and I am incessantly upset.

Because you deprive me of the excitement of VS. Because you raised my expectations and didn’t meet. Because you promised but you didn’t deliver! Because I was supposed to pass some of the stuff to my friends! Because you gave me blue balls!!!!!!!

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR

And ultimately, you gave me bad service that didn’t even come cheap.

Very disappointed leh! I mean, like too much hassles, and the gratification didn’t come! Very sad right?!

So to sooth the very broken heart, I succumbed to more VS shopping last night, and I awe myself with my self control when I took out many items that weren’t on sale and way out of my budget.

Save a lot lah! This time, the timeline is… it will reach Ian by 17th December, and he would bring back to Singapore for me on 24th December, just in time for Christmas!

Since most of the stuff are for the cruise, I can afford to wait :D

Though he was telling me it would better not be asking him to bring back a 15kg cake mixer, which was what his friend had requested him to do so.

Then he was saying if he missed the shipment, he could always bring it back in June when he comes back for his next holiday.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!

He doesn’t understand! I would probably cry murder and go to New York to bring them back from him instead, and insist on him paying for the airfares IF he forgets to bring my parcel back before the cruise. Alternatively, I will try to win his money on the cruise.

I bought only 2 dresses, because one will be for travelling to cold countries, and another… my swan song before the shopping ban kicks in for good, and it was a piece I really like the previous time round but didn’t have the heart to order cos it costs more than USD 50.

Damage done with free shipping and all? 100+ USD, and I am feeling the immense guilt gnawing up me now. But someone got to sooth the blueballs, somehow.

And I had conveniently forgotten that I had just went down to get new glasses done and replenished my contact lens supply last night.

Okay lah, good deal and good discount and half the price of my present pair even with thinner ultra thin lens!

You probably can see my self-consolation at work here.  I also have bad muscle sores and cramps. So poor thing, have to sayang myself, right?

SAAAYYYYYYYY YOU AGREE WITH ME!

ROAAARRRRRRR!

I did falter and buy myself ONE dress from Foggiare, and I can’t wait to collect it. Uhm, it is Christmas… no.. uh.. new year dress. Though it doesn’t make sense cos when all the orders come in, I probably have enough to last me till next Christmas, and I will be wearing the dress sooner than new year. Thanks Jo for keeping the last piece for me!

Can’t wait for Tammie to come back to make dresses after I gave her some ideas. Boohoo. 8 days holiday, she goes very long leh.

Pray that my freelance work deal pulls through to keep me busy and provide some dough that I badly need!

NO MORE SHOPPING!

Thankfully today while having breakfast with Ivy at Great World Spinelli’s. I realise at least I don’t think about buying bags. Phew. I guess the desire was killed by a Mac lipstick, wielded by Minibean.

IF I BLOG ANYMORE ABOUT BUYING CLOTHES TILL 2010, I SHALL GROW FROM SIZE XS TO S.

Fuck, and that would mean I have more reasons to buy new clothes so I can fit into them.

*Grumble grumble*

Eh! Christmas shopping not considered as shopping right?!

And I am considering registering for Sundown Marathon (should I TRY a FULL one? For sure as hell I can’t manage the Ultra one), also NOT shopping right?

Foggiare – The answer to my lovely dresses!

My hectic weekend fussing over Minibean’s 3rd birthday tea party was made a very pleasant affair, because apparently, Minibean was not the only one who got plenty of surprises!

It started 4 days ago when I received an email in my inbox, with an unusual request from the very lovely Evan & Jo (okay, it was primarily Jo who fronted the exchange), owners of http://www.livejournal.com/foggiare (okay, it seems like I can never once type livejournal without typing it as liverjournal. Grr!)

They had asked if I would be able to do reviews of their blogshop collections should they send some bribery love in the form of a couple of pretty dresses of my choice.

It wasn’t the first time I was asked to do a review of a product, nor was it the first time I have had a request to do a blogshop advertorial or the likes, so I have had my reservation despite feeling absolutely flattered that the stingy, cheapskate auntie can somehow get free clothes just because… just because… she has a blog?

The initial reservation is from the fact that I do not want to rave about something that doesn’t quite match my personal experience nor reflect my personal beliefs, and that the word-0f-mouth from me might eventually disappoint. You know what I mean?!

That was one of the core reasons why I didn’t end up helping a friend to review a product that absolutely didn’t work for me after trying out (cannot say what! Wait I kena silenced, Minibean how???) and made me feel pretty bad for a while but but but… just didn’t really want to write about it.

And it was the very same reason why I sincerely wanna blog about some of the more pleasant online shopping experiences I have had, hoping that the joy and experience could be shared by others, cos by now, most people should know that I am BIG on services.

You can be the best brand, but then if your service sucks, I will rather be buying from elsewhere, even if it costs me more. And if your service is brilliant, and I might just be charmed to buying things I will regret buying…. but still, it is a closed deal for you!

Bah. Did I digress that far?!

As I was saying!

After receiving the email, I was expecting to be disappointed as I open the site, because well, being relatively new to the blogshopsphere, I already got myself very acquainted with the more known names, and had little confident in the designs the lesser known blogshops got to offer.

I thought it was going to be a ho-hum affair (sorry Jo! I shouldn’t be so presumptious!). But when I was sitting through their latest collection, many of the pretty dresses sobered me up instantly and it very quickly roused the dress monster in me!

I mean, seriously, are they really gonna bribe me with pretty dresses?!

I quickly opened my mail broswer, and I would have said YES! YES! YES! without any hesitation just so I can get the deal sealed before they found out that my readership is not as high as they think regret.

But then, how can like that so no poise?!

So, I coolly, calmly, and replied with aplenty of composure, and said I would gladly do so though I was giggling and excitedly cooing like an utterly cheapskate auntie from the market within.

So. Not. Cool.

So. Not. Doing. Their. Chic. And. Feminine. Style. Justice.

After contemplating, I chose two of the dresses I fancied, though it was a very hard choice for me to make cos I seem to like this:

But I also like this because I have been looking for a long-sleeved dress for the chilly weather these days:

And then this one is sooooooo preetttyyyy with such great cutting! Minibean actually liked this (but I can understand why! So girly and with a ribbon!) but I am not sure Mummy can pull off such a sweet look or not:

And it is no secret that I love floral, so this one caught my eyes too:

But I cannot be tam-simly greedy! Especially when I have been teaching Minibean how never be greedy and must be contended with what people offer.

So….. and you wonder what my choices were.

As fickle as women goes, I am!

Answer: None of the above.

Seriously, that was one hard decision to make.

Eventually, I succumbed to the Chiffon Ubi Belt in Purple, which brilliantly fits size 6 to size 10 (woohoo! No more bad sized clothes that are too small for me!) and the Twiggy Mod Dress in dark blue.

Since I was fretting over what to wear for Minibean’s birthday, I got back to Jo on Friday just before she sent the pieces out, and asked if I could collect them instead.

She brilliantly told me I could and arranged for me to collect since I was on my way down to buy Minibean’s pressie.

I reached the store and the ever so affable Sharon was very patient with my request, and as she helped me with my questions.

I was all ready to nit-pick (reviews have to be honest, don’t they?!), since I am well aware how pictures and actual quality of dresses sometimes don’t match, but when I rip them out of their plastics, I fell in love with both the dresses’ material!

Then, I thought, the cutting must be bad!

So I asked to try on the dresses.

But they turn out to fit me perfectly to a T, and I love the way they hang on me!

The chiffon dress was light, and so cooling to wear! It comes with inner lining to shield the lightness of it all.

Besides that, the best part was the belt really seemed to work wonders to give the illusion to a perfect, hour-glass figured body.

The bodycon dress was of thicker material, and it wraps snugly round the figure to give an illusion of……. a figure. Ahem.

This couldn’t be true right? I was gifted 2 pretty dresses, and they happen to be pretty and managed to exceed my expectations and charm me silly… then now how?! Which one should I wear for Minibean’s birthday?

It was a tough choice.

And I was thinking of that so much that I almost became rude and forgot to thank Sharon and Jo.

Finally, I decided that comfort and girly-ness triumphs for Minibean’s birthday!

And, here’s a glimpse of the party I have yet to blog about:

Sorry, that was just Mummy being absolutely a vain camwhore in the dress I adore so much that I decided to wear for Minibean’s birthday.

img_5475

And I received compliments for wearing it. Happyness ish me lah!

I also must say the belt also kept the strapless bra in place, without allowing it to slide down, which it almost always does when I wear it, hahaha!

And here, is one of my favourite picture.

Happy 3rd birthday my precious sweetheart! Though your birthday isn’t here until Wednesday.

And here’s another of me and Minibean when she said “Mama meimei” (such an honest daughter I have, giggles) after I changed into the bodycon dress.

I wore it to work today and a colleague asked me where to get it and she expressed disbelief that the dress is priced so reasonably.

So because I am such a little happy camper who is so satisfied with her loots, that this review has only all the good things to say, and nothing bad!

And most importantly, with me being so particular about services and follow-ups, Jo had shown to be a total darling, and I am sure it isn’t just because she needed help or what, because there were others who had asked but just not with the same attitude and pleasantness.

Nothing more worth being happy about to meet such wonderfully nice people who make your day a shade brighter :)

Thank you Evan and Jo, for sending some much needed lurrrrvveee my way :)

That aside, talk about great timing!

Foggiare will be launching their new collection on 2nd December, 9pm, and that’s on Minibean’s birthday itself!

Tsk, so fated -beams-

If you have not succumbed to the temptation of blogshopping and wonder what the fuss is all about, it is really time for you to figure out how addictive and easy it is to just sit in front of your monitor and then log into your internet banking… do the transfer, TADANG! You get your loots mailed to you few days later and it feels like Christmas every day when you receive your packages!

***

For most of us ain’t that Italian savvy, Foggiare means to mould, to form, to fashion. How apt! And what sets this blogshop apart is that they also do have a shopfront at Square 2, Novena Square, where pictures cannot cheat you, and you cannot cheat yourselves (if you are a size 20 trying to squeeze into a size 6 and blame others for wrong sizings) since you can possibly try on some of the pieces to see how they really fit.

The great news is, they do have different sizes, instead of doing the cookie-cutter thing of having one size that might not fit all.

New dresses!

I tell you, this online shopping thingy is bloody addictive!

Got 2 dresses from yet another blogshop and I am loving this experience and the pieces I received!

Wore one for Minibean’s birthday, and here’s the other piece that I am wearing now, for work on a bluesy Monday.

And it is in blue! Woohooo!

img_5465

Woops, didn’t pull down the dress properleeeeeeeeeeee.

Back to work and will write more about the preeeetttttttyyyyyy dresses later today!

Fast-pacing

I WANTTTT TOOO BLLOOOOGGGGG!

It seems like I have 1001 things to blog about and then they just became ideas, then became forgotten.

Duh.

Like seriously!

But then today cannot lah, got many important things to do.

To grab the dresses to wear for Minibean’s party. More on that to come, and I am very very the excited lah! Yay to new dresses.

And yes, Minibean’s party. One that the forgetful mama almost don’t remember because it is still November, and it must mean December is very far away and that it cannot be this weekend is the weekend before her birthday which means Mummy only ordered a cake yesterday for tomorrow, and then sent out invites yesterday after calculating whether got budget to do catering at her place or not and succumbed to the fact she is too broke and then decided cannot and then home-cooked food is the way to go.

Okay, did I just finish that thought in one breath? I remember holding my breath and typed on until my face is almost blue.

Oh dammit! I have to rush out to get her birthday present!

What else?

Oh, blog!

Lynn’s wedding, Cheyenne’s birthday, and those mundane days of mine. And I haven’t even gotten down to Peining’s wedding AND Pat’s.

Ho seh liao.

OHHHHHHHH THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I FORGOT TO MENTION!

Edward, here I come.

*Swoon* *Smitten*

Suck me! Suck me!

New stuff.. not!

I was very much looking forward to my dresses I got from BonitoChico, since I have heard quite a bit of reviews of their designs, and I did very much like what I saw.

After weeks of waiting for the backorder, finally received the package today, and it was a pleasant surprise because unlike other 2 blogshops I had purchased from, there was no indication of they were sending the pieces out, but I like the surprise when I suddenly found it in my mailbox after a long wait.

I was jokingly telling someone I have barely any patience for backorders, cos I had wanted to wear it to a function recently.

But it still pretty much reached me within the stated timeline given, so that’s a definite plus for it.

I first unwrapped it and really like the material of the top which was really comfortable and of good quality. The chiffon dress was a little thin but it looks pretty, and I was very much having high hopes for the satin toga dress.

I quickly headed home and did my laundry and took a bit of time to try them on, taking for granted all will be pretty much a great fit like it was with the other 2 blogshops. I requested for all 3 for the same size.

First, the white top.

It was great, of comfortable material and I really like the material that feels casual yet gives a formal look when required. Just what I need for work to go with the daily jeans.

And the back was pretty as well.

I tried it on and it is a very nice piece, but was a tad too loose for me so it looks very boxy on me, so perhaps I might need to tailor it a little.

Or just eat more and grow into it :)

So onto the next, was the navy blue chiffon dress.

When I first tried it on, I realised the band was little high for me, since I got a relatively longer body, so the band rests awkwardly higher.

Then, the saddest part that reminded me of my food intake was when I couldn’t zip up at the armpits, when I adjust it, I realise the dress is really pretty just that, I CAN’T FREAKING ZIP UP AT THE ARMPIT COS I AM TOO FAT. BOOHOOHOO.

But because it is backorder, and also in their terms and conditions they stated they will not do refunds or exchanges, so I thought I might want to sell it here, cos seriously, if I need to lose more weight to fit into it when I am thinking of putting a wee bit more weight to fit into the white top, then… I can’t possibly own 2 at the same time.

I so flat already also cannot zip up at boobies part, so if you are slimmer but have massive mammaries, please give this a miss.

Then.

Onto the last piece which I really liked, the toga dress.

Before I put it on, I tried to unzip the dress, but the zip was faulty and wouldn’t go beyond halfway.

So by now, I was quite disheartened and disappointed.

Nonetheless, one of the things I like about their dresses is that, the band is always slightly elastic, on the back.

And since it could open till halfway, I took my chance to try on the dress, which I manage to.

It was quite a good fit on top, but the real hell was when I was trying to get out of it due to the faulty zip.

I think I might have to bring to the tailor to replace the zip. But knowing how lazy I am, that would probably take a bit of time to materialise.

I like another piece from the blogshop, but I am not sure if I should risk the disappointment and try again?

Nice hor? I want to get, but then still contemplating. And from the picture, it looks like the cutting is good. Decisions, decisions. The problem is if I can’t change it, then I would be having more problems at hand like the blue one I don’t know how to get rid of, or have to go through the trouble with the zip alteration like the toga dress.

Another piece was the same piece and material to the red rose dress I got from Paperbagheads, so I am quite confident of the cutting, but not sure if I should be so indulgent to get the same dress in another colour.

Now I just hope my Victoria’s Secrets will fit well, or else my friends will know what they can expect for Christmas.

How anyone want to buy the blue dress off me? Or suggestions of what I can do with it, or alter it to fit my fat armpit(but too small how to alter)?

I am gonna sulk. Cos I didn’t get the therapy I needed from this dosage heh.
