Random dailies

Finally! I have finished my part-time commitment which took place over the past 3 weeks, and with the conclusion of this project, I have some moolah in the pocket, and at the same time, just in time to take a short break before it is school term again for Minibean.

What a Tuesday it was. I had visited Minibean at her grans’ on a rainy Monday evening (shopped around Raffles City and had dinner at the foodcourt prior to that and I bought mooncakes!) had a few hours of rest before waking up before 7am to drive to the East for an event on Tuesday morning.

Headed to Orchard to meet Eunice for a facial after lunchtime which I slept through throughout (I even snored a little!), but was awfully glad I finally had the time to get one done, my first facial in 4 months!

I had purchased the package reluctantly after the previous free trial in May, but beside the horrible sales person (the one who was pregnant and probably now on maternity leave, THANK GOODNESS!), I actually thought the services and effect was pretty good! Paid 300 bucks for 7 sessions of facials with special eye treatment and massage (which is perhaps the only eye treatment service I had tried which I could see a difference), which honestly isn’t too shabby for the results I had.

Even though I insist the sales people are may-jahly turn-offish. In a way, the worst I have seen, thus I do not really want to recommend the services to just anyone.

Anyway, did I mention I met a chap called Pokey(!!!!) Pu, and that was written on his namecard? Oh yes, I did. And SERIOUSLY?!

Oh well.

I really have no idea where time has gone. Why is it that I am unemployed but I feel busier and yet more fulfilled than ever?

Just not richer. Tsk.

Met up with Nick for drinks at the Heeren, and then we headed to Funan to curb my cravings for Pepper Lunch. Upsized it and I was no where near full even though I almost swallowed the hot plate too. To TCC for another session of tea,  before heading off for pole lesson, and while around for another hour before attending yet another new course at the studio (more about it soon!).

A phone call came in from Dad just as we were heading for supper. His flight was scheduled to land around 9ish or 10pm, and he had apparently forgotten that he told me not to pick him up. It was 12 midnight when he called to tell me he had just arrived cos there was a flight delay.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I rushed from the studio to the airport with Eunice to pick Dad up.

Dad and I then adjourned for supper cos he had missed local food. We sat and chatted for almost an hour.

It was one of the nicest supper session I ever had with my dad (I shall totally write a post about it), which I finally found answers and found out more about my dad than I ever did.

It was almost 70 years of history there, and I was just glad to listen to his story, and know things from his perspective, a rarity in a traditional, albeit dysfunctional chinese family like ours.

And there was even a good news from him which I actually was closed to tears… even though it honestly was, er, none of my business.

By the time I got home, it was another few hours of work and struggling to keep my eyes open to get some survey and data updated, before I bade my project goodbye, finally, nearing 6am in the morning.

I crashed, and probably slept through the flood and rain, waking up to realise that it was no time for rest nor me-time, cos things had to be done around the house for I will be fetching Minibean back, with her school term starting soon.

The intensive workout around the house means I had missed a cake-baking session, and even my pole practice.

Nonetheless, I have to have the place decent enough for the dowager (who else but my mum?) to give me an easier time, and a place I feel safer for the little princess to be in.

I even felt the need to throw out things I have been hoarding, and I even wiped the windows, mirrors and all this time.

And seriously, why are there bird shit INSIDE the house these days?! I should not leave the kitchen window open anymore. Hmphf!

Oh. Beeconomic had been sending me lotsa offers every single day (which are all quite impressively great) but I finally saw one I like today because it is a massage and body scrub deal! If you are as much a massage freak like I am.. the offer is not there for long!

I decided to go to the site to have a look sign up an account, and realised that this site is such a brilliant idea.

You could even buy it as a gift for a friend. There are different kind of offers from restaurants, or even martial combat tickets and such.

So do sign up an account and get yourself updated with different offers every single day! You could even earn referral perks to get discount on future purchases! I am so terrified being this close to auntie-dom but yet I am enjoying scouting great bargains, tsk.

Sometimes I think it would be very soon before this becomes a totally auntie-ish blog, with me dispensing tips and enthusiastically posting about how to scrub the toiletbowl clean or to get the black stains from the burnt pots.

Okay, getting depressing.

Anyway, I love tonight’s dinner. Taiwanese instant bowl noodles with “iron eggs” and my favourite spicy belachan.

But depressing thing was, as I slurped the last bit of the soup with a burp, I saw the McDee’s advertisement on quarter pounder and I felt like having a quarter pounder immediately.

The horror.

Will be back with some blog posts, and I am just terribly glad the blog mojo is officially back.

WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
